Born and trained on the East Coast of Spain, Borja Bonaque began professionally developing his illustration work in 2008, shortly after earning his degree in Fine Arts. While versatility defines his style, Mediterranean architecture and aesthetics play a central role in his body of work.
Whether working on commissioned projects or personal creations, Borja’s process is entirely digital. His final and most crucial step is the selection of color, light, and shadow—elements that transform the ordinary into something strikingly futuristic. His bold, nuanced choices craft urban landscapes that feel both familiar and dreamlike, transporting viewers to places they never knew they longed to visit.
Borja has collaborated with renowned publications such as The Financial Times, Popeye Magazine, The Washington Post, and The Hollywood Reporter, as well as major brands including Deutsche Bank, Lufthansa, Kia Motors, and The Volkswagen Foundation.
